We are deeply saddened by the catastrophic flash floods and debris flows that struck northern Nepal and the Tibet border on August 26, 2026. Triggered by a massive glacier collapse on Langtang Lirung, a cascading wall of mud, rock, and water devastated the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river valleys, causing one of the region’s worst humanitarian and environmental disasters in more than 15 years.

Sherpa House has donated to the Prime Minister’s Flood Disaster Relief Fund and encourages others to do the same. Every contribution helps support search-and-rescue operations, emergency relief, and the long-term rebuilding of affected communities. Our thoughts are with all those impacted by this tragedy.
